Editorial policy and standards
The Gold Rate publishes market reference data and educational guides for Indian gold and silver buyers. This page explains how we produce content, where numbers come from, and how we handle corrections. Finance topics can affect real money decisions, so we treat accuracy and transparency as core product requirements.
What we publish
- City-wise indicative 24K, 22K, 18K and silver reference rates
- Weight and purity conversion tables
- Jewellery cost calculators with making-charge and GST assumptions
- Educational guides on hallmarking, investment products, and buying process
- Dated explainers that help readers interpret market moves
Data sources
Headline rates are derived primarily from India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) domestic benchmarks when available, supplemented by international bullion references and USD/INR conversion. City pages show indicative retail-metal values, not a final jewellery invoice. Full detail lives on our rate methodology page.
Human review
Automated feeds refresh cached prices several times daily. Editorial review focuses on methodology clarity, calculator logic, guide accuracy, and obvious data anomalies. Articles and guides are written for Indian household buyers and investors — not for market manipulation or stock tips.
Independence
The Gold Rate is an independent information site. We do not sell gold, jewellery, or financial products. Displayed rates are for comparison and education. Always confirm the final price with your jeweller, bank, or licensed dealer before paying.
Corrections
If you find a factual error, stale explanation, or calculator issue, email himanthakumar456@gmail.com with the page URL and details. Material corrections are updated on-page and reflected in the page's last-updated timestamp where applicable.
Advertising
If ads are shown, they are separate from editorial rate data. Advertising does not change IBJA-linked reference calculations or guide conclusions. Read our privacy policy and disclaimer for related terms.
